Social Worker in Children's Home
MAURICOVÁ, Kristýna
This thesis focuses on the activities of a social worker in a children´s home. Its objective is to provide insight into the work of a social worker in a children´s home, describe the challenges and experiences encountered in the practice of social work. A social worker is an essential part of every children´s home. His responsibilities mainly involve the administrative aspects of admitting, accommodating, and departure of a child. In the practical part of the thesis a qualitative research strategy was utilized to fulfill the set objective, using specific methods such as questioning and semi-structured interview technique. Through semi-structured interview, answers to a total of 12 questions were gathered, which helped to clarify the objectives and research questions of the thesis. The research sample consisted of social workers from children´s homes. The gathered data was analyzed using open coding and subsequently grouped into categories. The results shown that the work of a social worker in a children´s home is primarily administrative in nature, and they only come into contact with the children in specific situations. The experiences of social workers vary in some cases, but they generally agree on the difficulties they face. One of the difficulties lies in facilitating contact between parents and child. For social workers in children´s homes, it is demanding to locate and contact parents. The problem is frequent changes in residence addresses or phone numbers. Another issue with parents is situation when they make numerous promises to their children but fail to fulfill them in the end. They lack essential information about the birth of the child, childhood, sometimes even about their health condition and relatives. The departure of a child from the home is also demanding for the workers. The workers have information about some children or the children themselves come to visit the children´s home, Unfortunately, regarding some of the children, the workers have no information, which troubles them.
Socially-Anormative Behaviour, Causes and Their Prevention in Selected Children´s Homes
KUCHAŘOVÁ, Eliška
Bachelor thesis deals with socially anormative behaviour, its causes and prevention in selected children's homes. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to identify the most common manifestations of socially anormative behaviour in children in children's homes, to describe the prevention of this behaviour and to propose possible solutions to socially anormative behaviour. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the basic concepts related to the family, its functions and other important socialization factors that influence children's behaviour. The theoretical part includes concepts related to childs relationships, significant emotional attachments. The bachelor thesis includes an explanation of the concepts of anormative behaviour. Last but not least, possible causes and prevention of socially anormative behaviour are presented in the thesis. In the practical part, a qualitative research strategy, semi-structured interview technique and questionnaire method were used. Based on the objective, the study and the literature, research questions were identified and enriched with additional questions. The research population consisted of 8 female workers from two unnamed children's homes in the Highlands. The semi-structured interview included 10 questions that helped me to clarify the aims and research questions of the undergraduate thesis. The research investigation revealed that the most common manifestations of socially anormative behaviour were lying, aggressive behaviour, and uncontrollable crying. In most cases it was stated there is a need for more cooperation with professionals, improved cooperation with the family, and informing the public about the consequences of social anormative behaviour. The communication partners tried to suggest possible solutions to socially anormative behaviour and also most often answered that it is necessary to work with the family at the beginning of the problem and also to financially support biological parents instead of foster parents, which would motivate mothers to take care of their own children.
Comparison of Access of Workers of Children´s Home, Primary School and School Canteen Radenín to Children with Disabilities and to Children without Disabilities
ZHORNÁ, Michaela
The aim of this work was to map the activities of children's home workers in the care of children with disabilities and children without disabilities. The research set consisted of six staff members from the Children's Home, Primary School, and School Canteen Radenín, one of whom was a social worker who is an essential component in childcare. The research was carried out by qualitative research. A method of questioning was used to answer the research questions and a semi-structured interview was the technique. The data obtained from the interviews was evaluated by open coding and then breaking the codes into categories. Based on the research carried out, it has emerged that the education of children in a children´s home varies greatly, due to a visit to two types of schools when children come with different difficulty of tasks. There needs to be a difference in access to education for children with disabilities and children without disabilities. This brings me to the answer to the second research question, when workers in education with children with disabilities have to use certain specific aids to make it easier for children to work. Workers with specific aids not only encounter children with disabilities in education, but also in developing motor and skills in a boy with cerebral palsy. The work brings knowledge in the field of education of children with disabilities and the use of special aids when working with these children. The aids can be educational cards, which serve as an aid to the development of communication skills, or an auxiliary table for multiplication. It is clear from the research that an assistant educator is an indispensable component in working with children with disabilities because these children need individual care.

Psychosocial experiencing of children at children´s home
WITZANYOVÁ, Aneta
Placement in a children's home constitutes an immense change of a child's life as the child has known it so far; this is certainly reflected in the child's experience and evaluation of life. Life at a children's home affects mental and social aspects of children's experience, in certain cases favourably and in other cases adversely. Reasons for that can be found in previous experience from own families and the ability to adapt to the new environment. One of the objectives of the present thesis is to point out specifics of children's experience in children's homes at the very least in connection with any trauma experienced. This diploma thesis pursues several objectives. The pivotal objective is to raise awareness of and popularize the aforementioned theme and to carry out research into what kind of complaints children might have as regards children's homes and, on the contrary, what factors reinforce their competences. The research was performed with the aim of helping children's homes focus on improving conditions for better development and psyche of the children who live there. Another objective of the research was to explore the relationship between children and their carers, and to determine their future plans with respect to their past when it comes to life goals and family life. The theoretical part of the thesis is concerned with the family, institutional upbringing system and defines a children's home. In addition, the theoretical part reflects upon causes for placing children in a children's home, risks of institutional upbringing as well as the problem of mental deprivation and personality of a child or an adolescent. The following chapters analyse the role of male and female carers and psychosocial experience of children in children's homes. The empirical part of the thesis is engaged in the research per se, summarization and presentation of data acquired and, last but not least, determination of replies to research questions. The research was carried out on the basis of a qualitative survey using the technique of anchored theory, by means of three-level coding and determination of anchored statements. Data were processed in the software programme ATLAS.ti, where graphic outputs were generated in order to supplement every category and subcategory in the empirical part of the thesis. The analysis and interpretation of the data acquired revealed that despite the fact that children express certain dissatisfaction with the schedule that they have to keep in children's homes, they complain of certain aspects and their past experience has an impact on them, their life in children's homes is not entirely stressful, subject to exceptions, and most of them are relatively happy. In spite of this, conditions in children's homes might and must be improved, which fact constitutes a challenge especially for staff of children's homes. Another outcome of the research showed that relationships between children and carers are mostly good and rely on mutual trust, despite occasional disagreements. The research also delved into future goals and ambitions of children in children's homes, which concern changes in their future family life, leading to solid relationships between them and their own children and enabling them to care of their children in a due form. From the perspective of other goals, children want their dreams to come true, complete their education, settle down, be happy and lead a "normal" life. This diploma thesis could contribute to spreading awareness of and popularizing the theme of psychosocial experience of children in children's home. Furthermore, with respect to its results, the thesis might serve as instructional material for staff in children's homes to identify areas of improvement or risk areas and to learn what it is that makes children happy. Performed on the state-wide level, the extent of the research is very wide-ranging and is based on real responses of children from children's homes.
Integration of childern raised outside the family in society
PEŘINOVÁ, Eva
This diploma thesis called Integration of children raised outside the family into society deals with life stories of young adults who left a children's home. The main aim of the thesis is to find out the fates of young people who are leaving susbsitute family care. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part of the thesis is decribed the issue of family from its typology, functionality and remediation. It also deals with the system of substitute family care, including institutional care and its pittfalls, leaving institutional care and related problems in entering independent life. Briefly, there are also described projects facilitating the integration of young individuals into society when they are leaving institutonal care. The empirical part of the thesis was processed by qualitative method of questioning, using the technique of narrative interview. The research group consisted of ten adults who grew up in a children's home in the South Bohemian Region and have experience of leaving the children's home. Data were processed using ATLAS.ti software, open coding and subsequent data categorization was performed. Research has shown that young people leaving a children's home at a very young age have difficulty entering independent life, especially in the areas of finance, employment, housing and social networking. Despite the preparation that takes place in a children's home, it is difficult for them to succeed at such a young age outside the children's home without the support of someone close to them that could help them to solve difficult and everyday worries. The diploma thesis could serve the general public interested in this issue because it contains a brief outline of theoretical information. It could be also used as an information source for organizations with this target group, as it maps the basic problems and needs of this target group.

The theoretical part then points out on the explanation of the dialogue, it´s different conceptions and important aspects. The following chapter describes the man as a being who uses words and is endowed with speech. The theoretical part also describes the philosophy of a dialogue and explanation of important terms together with Socratic dialogues. Possibilities of Placement Disabled Children into the Substitute Family Care
STONAVSKÁ, Michaela
Substitute family care is a pressing issue for society, mainly because many children are still in institutional care. The bachelor thesis called "Possibilities of Placement Disabled Children into the Substitute Family Care " will introduce the given issue from the professional literature. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with family, substitute family care and disability. The chapter about alternative family care describes how children are given this form of care and how negative childhood experiences are reflected in adulthood. This chapter describes forms of surrogate family care, financial contributions that are guaranteed by the state, or steps to be taken to become an applicant and a future surrogate parent. The next chapter introduces the definition of disability and the individual subchapters describe the types of disability. The conclusion of the theoretical part includes the adoption of a child with disabilities in the family. The practical part investigated how social workers in children's homes perceive the placement of children with disabilities in substitute family care and what they perceive as the biggest problems. Other goals were to find out what form of substitute family care is preferred for children with disabilities and how can the children benefit from being placed in a substitute family. The practical part of the thesis was processed using qualitative research. In-depth interviews were conducted with social workers in children's homes in the Pilsen Region. The research revealed that the disability of children in children's homes is very common. In answering the main research question, which was placing disabled children in substitute family care, children with disabilities have a lower chance of getting into foster care compared to children without disabilities. This is mainly due to more demanding education and care for these children. Research has shown that surrogate parents often accept a child with disabilities, but they do not manage and place it back in institutional care. A precondition for an unmanaged substitute family is low awareness of disability and courage to seek professional help. Social workers see the problem of integrating these children into society, so placing them in substitute families is a great help and benefit. According to the experience of social workers, children with disabilities are placed only in one of the forms of substitute family care, namely in foster care. This form is often preceded by host care, where the child meets a future substitute family, then grows into foster care, either to a married couple or an individual. Children with disabilities are often placed in foster care for relatives or close relatives. However, the research has shown that most children return to institutional care from these people.
